Anders Ahnlid

Mr. Anders Ahnlid holds a University degree in Political Science and Economics, University of Lund and is the Director-General of the Swedish National Board of Trade. Prior to this role, he has served the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in various capacities; Swedish Ambassador to Finland. Sweden’s Permanent Representative to the EU in Brussels, Ambassador to the OECD and to UNESCO. Anders has spent most of his professional career in trade policy and has held various trade policy related functions, including as negotiator in the GATT Uruguay Round, delegate to the WTO and negotiator and chair of the EU Trade Policy Committee. He has been head of the department of the international trade policy and Director General for Trade in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, as well as head of the trade and economic office in the Swedish Embassy in Washington. During his long career, he has also authored numerous trade policy related articles.
