Geoffrey Chapman
United Kingdom
Geoffrey Chapman grew up in South Africa and started working on trade and development in the southern Africa region in 2011. In 2014, and thanks to a Commonwealth Scholarship, Geoffrey moved to the UK to pursue his PhD at the University of Nottingham, where his research focused on economic integration. After completing his PhD, Geoffrey worked for a short while as a Senior Consultant but quickly moved on to take up a role in the UK's civil service. Currently, his work focuses on trade remedies, disputes and sanctions.
Studying economics, and working as an economist, has opened so many doors for Geoffrey, that he endeavours to give back. He do this through the Trade Policy Research Forum, but also through mentoring students and younger colleagues. Outside of work, he re-energises and recharges through sport, spending time with friends, food and animals.
